UniSA offers a wide range of scholarships, prizes and grants for both commencing and continuing students. The page details the scholarships, prizes and grants which are specific to Law, however Law students may also apply for other university scholarships and grants if they meet the selection criteria.

Australian Executor Trustees Law Founder Grant
The Australian Executor Trustees
Grant is available for
application by students of the School of Law who have completed both
second year courses Principles of Equity and Law of Trusts.
The Grant recipient will be selected on the basis of:
- Academic Merit: to be determined by the cumulative grade point average (GPA) achieved by the student in studying both second year courses Principles of Equity and Law of Trusts
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to be an ambassador for the scholarship. This component will be assessed via a personal statement from the student.
Value: $5,000 per annum for a full time student, $2,500 for a part
time student.
Grant awarded annually from 2010 to 2012.
The Dean of Law Grant
The Dean of Law Grant is awarded to students who are enrolled in
Bachelor of Laws program or associated double degrees and have already
completed 36 units of study.
The scholarship recipient will be selected on the basis of academic merit to be determined by the cumulative grade point average (GPA) achieved by the student in the following courses: Contracts A; Torts A; Legal Institutions and Methods; and Law, Society and Justice. Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial hardship as per university guidelines.
Consideration will also be given to the written statement submitted by the candidate. The scholarships is valued at $2000 based on a full-time load and it will be paid to the student in two instalments after the census dates 31 March and 31 August.
Joshua McDowell Scholarships
Joshua McDowell First Year Law Scholarship
The Joshua McDowell First Year Law Scholarship is available to students
who are new to higher education and are enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws
program or associated double degrees. Applicants must be Australian
citizens or permanent residents. Selection will be based on the
applicant's ATAR (formerly TER) results and preference may be given to applicants from
designated Northern Areas High Schools in the areas of Salisbury, Playford or Gawler.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 based on a full-time load, and it will be paid to the recipient in two instalments after the census dates of 31 March and 31 August.
Joshua McDowell Second Year Law Scholarship
The Joshua McDowell Second Year Law Scholarship is available to students
who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws program or associated double
degrees, and have already completed 36 units of study. Applicants must
be Australian citizens or permanent residents. The Scholarship recipient
will be selected on the basis of academic merit to be determined by the
cumulative grade point average (GPA) achieved by the student in the
following courses: Contracts A; Torts A; Legal Institutions and Methods;
Law, Society and Justice. Consideration will also be given to the
written statement submitted by the candidate.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 based on a full-time load and it will be paid to the student in two instalments after the census dates of 31 March and 31 August.
Paul Anderson Law Grant
The Paul Anderson Law Grant is available to students who have
completed at least 8 law courses. The scholarship will be awarded on the
basis of financial disadvantage and academic merit, and preference will
be given to students with a disability.
The scholarship is valued at $4,000 based on a full-time load and it will be paid to the recipient in two instalments after the census dates of 31 March and 31 August.
Prizes & Awards
Andersons Solicitors' Prize for Torts
Awarded to the student with the highest aggregate score across Torts
A and Torts B in a calendar year.
Value: $500 Book voucher
Prize awarded annually from 2008 to 2011.
The Piper Alderman Prize for Corporate Law: Finance and Governance
The Piper Alderman Prize for Corporate Law: Finance and Governance is
awarded to students who are enrolled in Bachelor of Laws program or
associated double degrees. The prize recipient will be selected on the
basis of academic merit to be determined by the highest cumulative mark
achieved by the student in the following course: Corporate Law: Finance
and Governance.
Value: $500
Prize awarded from 2010.
The Schulz Law Honours Prize
The Schulz Law Honours Prize is awarded to the student with the best
honours thesis that contributes to understanding and knowledge in the
area of Law, Social Policy and Communications Theory. Preference will be
given to applicants who are actively engaged in community service.
Value: $1,000
Prize awarded from 2009.

How to apply
Applications for the above scholarships can be made once students are enrolled in a Law degree. Students should apply through the myUniSA portal in the 'my Scholarships' section. Scholarships will be listed on the my Scholarships page when applications open.
No applications are required for prizes and awards.
