Learning Advice Services have changed. New Language and Learning Services (L3) will be available to all UniSA students from Monday 13 February 2012. All L3 online resources designed to assist students with specific Language, academic Literacy and Learning skills are located on the L3 website.
L3 Services
UniSA's Language and Learning Services (L3 - L cubed) exist to help all UniSA students develop better Language, academic Literacy and Learning skills while at university.
Language and Learning Advisers, based locally at LTU campus offices, provide the following services:
L3 services - for all UniSA students
ELSAT (English Language Self Assessment Tool)
- a 60 minute, optional online tool that allows students to check their English and whether or not they qualify for extra language and learning services
- students can do ELSAT once every 6 months
- access ELSAT via the L3 website
Workshops
- a series of sessions designed to help students understand and meet the demands of university study and perform better in assignments
- workshop details can be found on the L3 website
L3 online resources
- online materials designed to provide students with the support they need to meet the language and learning requirements of their specific degree program and coursework
- resources providing explanations, models and practice tasks to develop students' university skills
- access L3 online resources via the L3 website
L3 services - available to students who sit ELSAT and qualify for extra services
1-1 Consultations with a Language and Learning Adviser
- eligible students are entitled to up to eight 1-1 consultations in the 12 months after doing ELSAT
- each 1-1 consultation will be up to 30 minutes long
- to book a 1-1 consultation, students need to visit or phone their local LTU office and present a copy of their ELSAT email
Language Feedback on Assignments
- eligible students can submit any two marked, written assignments to a Language and Learning Adviser in the 12 months after doing ELSAT
- language feedback on assignments will be emailed to students within two weeks
- to submit an assignment, students need to visit or phone their local LTU office and present a copy of their ELSAT email
