Known Issues

Details of issues encountered by staff using the learnonline system have been provided below.  An indication of the current status or expected completion date is included where applicable.

Issue Status / Expected Completion Date Interim Workaround

iPad File Upload
Staff are not able to upload files to learnonline when using an iPad. This is an Adobe flash related issue. Adobe Flash is not supported by iPads or iPhones.

Under Investigation

Use your standard PC to upload files to learnonline.

File Names
Files that contain characters such as ampersands and spaces are "broken" in learnonline after being migrated from UniSAnet.

Issue Known / Expected resolution: End September

Contact IT Helpdesk. Files will be manually corrected.

Copying a previous version of your course
A course copy fails when attempting to copy a large (> 500MB) course.

Under Investigation

Remove any large files (such as video files) from your learnonline course. Upload them to the UniSA Streaming server and install a hyperlink to the video from within the course site.

Text Error
Additional text in the form of 'computer code' is displayed on the Moodle screen. This issue does not affect all users and occurs sporadically.
You can view an example of the error here.

Moodle Quiz
Slow performance has been identified when exporting quiz results from Moodle.

Selected quiz data may revert to full data during export process.

Issue known /
Expected resolution: To be advised

Provide ample time for the export of quiz data from Moodle.

Sort quiz data within Excel, after the export process is complete.

File Upload
Where applicable, old versions of files should be overwritten to allow for easier uploading.  However, the upload facility currently adds spaces to file names, thereby creating new versions rather than overwriting old versions.

Upgraded and enhanced tool being delivered

Do not include spaces in filenames, please use an underscore.

The next version of Moodle 2.0 (Yet to be released) will resolve this issue.

Groups & Student View
"Student View" does not include any items that are in groups.
"Student View" represents a generic student that is not in any group.

Under Investigation

Please note that the "Student View" represents a generic student that is not in any group.

OUWiki Groups
If an OU Wiki uses Groups for participants, deleting the associated Groups will "orphan" the data connected to these Groups. The OU Wiki pages will then "lose" the information that had been there prior to the deletion.

For example: An OU Wiki has been set up to allow only the "Group A" to access this activity. If the Course Coordinator deletes "Group A", then the OU Wiki information associated with this Group will  also disappear.

Under Investigation

Do not delete Groups that are associated
with OU Wiki pages.
