Our building
Built to a 5 star green star rating, the new Mawson
Institute building is located on the North Eastern edge of the
University of South Australia campus at Mawson Lakes, just over 12 km
from the centre of the city of Adelaide.
Adjoining a wet land corridor, the building
incorporates state of the art laboratories (including a specialist cell
culture suite) and a unique architectural design - highlighted by an eye
catching cantilever structure to level 2 of the building. Built with environmental considerations in mind the
design features low-e window glazing, louvered sunscreens, chilled beams,
sun controlled sky lights, occupancy sensors attached to the lighting
system, and a combination of renewable/recycled and low VOC emission
materials where possible.
