Research Expertise and Facilities

As a student of this program, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our new Barbara Hardy Research Institute which seeks to find solutions to the complex human and technological issues involved in developing more environmentally sustainable communities.
The Barbara Hardy Centre has developed a significant profile through successful community outreach, research and education projects, and partnerships with government and industry. The Centre will continue to grow, particularly through an increase in the number of researchers, research students, research projects and outputs, and in the engagement of the wider community. The Barbara Hardy Centre has two key areas of interest that will underpin the Centre's growth: the Environment and Education.
Research work is also undertaken
through the SA Water Centre
for Water Management and Reuse. Established in 2004 as a joint
venture between the South Australian Water Corporation and UniSA,
the Centre has added significant expertise to the water research
capability in South Australia. Building on established strengths in
urban water resources management, the Centre is establishing core
capabilities in water and waste water treatment, water reuse, total
water cycle management, water sensitive urban design, environmental
biotechnology, water utilisation from the River Murray and the
provision of water services for rural and desert communities.
