Four more years for UniSA Chancellor

Chancellor of the University of South Australia and former Managing Director of Kinhill, David Klingberg has been reappointed as Chancellor for a further four years.

Klingberg took on the position in 1998 after a career of more than 30 years in the engineering industry. He was a key player in building Kinhill from a small South Australian company to one of Australia’s largest professional engineering firms.

The Chancellor said he was honored to be reappointed as UniSA moved into its next decade of success.

“I am enjoying this opportunity to work with some outstanding individuals and I continue to be impressed by the quality and creativity of the staff at UniSA across such a broad range of academic areas,” he said.

“That is a constant reinforcement for me that UniSA is indeed living up to its reputation as an innovative and enterprising University.  We have had major research successes in recent years and have been ranked as the leading Australian university for offshore international students. This is a credit to the work of the Vice Chancellor Professor Denise Bradley, her senior management team and the entire staff of the University.

“The University is embarking on an exciting period of growth and change with a major $100 million investment in the roll out of its campus reconfiguration plans, Blueprint 2005, and I am looking forward to working with the Council and the staff of the University on this major State initiative. I think the full value of UniSA as a major source of innovation and development for South Australia is now being realised.”

Vice Chancellor Professor Denise Bradley said she welcomed the Chancellor’s reappointment.

“David Klingberg is making an important contribution to the institution,” she said.

“He brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge to the institution and his wise counsel in many areas of our activity is highly valued across the University community,” Professor Bradley said.
