Request trial of new learning and teaching software
The following steps must be followed when requesting a trial of new learning and teaching software.
- Present a brief overview (using template) to the Teaching Technology Advisory Group (TTAG) for review of new software product. This overview covers the business and pedagogic value of the product, and the intended audience.
- TTAG reviews product and determines whether it is aligned with UniSA Learning and Teaching Strategies, strategic direction and IT infrastructure.
- If accepted, a Virtual Server will be created that facilitates the new software. A firm deadline is applied for the retirement of this Virtual Server to prevent the application slipping into production use. Distinct users are allowed access to the software. There is no guarantee to the requestor that the software will proceed to production.
- Trial of software occurs for the fixed period.
- Post trial; the requestor presents a paper to TTAG describing the trial and the success (or failure) of the software.
- To move software into production; an approval process occurs which involves consultation with Heads of School, Program Directors, Course Coordinators and relevant IT Support staff. A recommendation to Senior Management Group is then prepared by members of the TTAG.
- If the software is to proceed, the software is installed on a suitable production server(s) that can handle the expected load and has appropriate redundancy.
TTAG meets quarterly and completed application forms should be forwarded to Ange McClelland for inclusion in the next TTAG agenda.
