Occupational Health, Safety Welfare and Injury Management
The University is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for employees, students, contractors and visitors, and to the continuous improvement of injury prevention and injury management programs with the goal of achieving the highest possible standards.
OHSW&IM Services closely monitor all incoming hazard/incident reports to ensure:
-
prompt medical intervention is initiated where indicated
-
investigation occurs as soon as possible following the incident or hazard identified and
-
corrective action taken or planned is appropriate in eliminating or controlling the hazard.
Divisional OHSW Consultants closely monitor all hazard/incident and investigation reports for their respective division.
OHSW&IM Services also monitor compliance with the reporting performance indicator timelines (report within 12 hours and investigate within 5 working days of an occurrence) and extract data through management reporting to identify trends and action required to mitigate risk across the university.
For more information or assistance with using the OHSW&IM Hazard/Incident Reporting & Investigation System, please contact Robyn Sferco, Senior OHSW Consultant, OHSW&IM Services on (08) 8302 1787.
