A fresh perspective into practice. UniSA Law.

Law is the fabric of society. It moulds the way we go about our lives, governs our actions, and most importantly ensures that justice is preserved. Studying law provides you with the understanding and skills to be able to influence the laws that are made and how they are enforced. It opens the doors to many legal and non-legal careers. You might become a solicitor or barrister and apply the law to try to win a case. You could find yourself in government, changing laws to better reflect community values, or acting on behalf of a community organisation to protect the rights of a particular group. You may even end up as a judge, deciding the fate of individuals and organisations that walk into your courtroom.

Studying Management at UniSA provides a solid foundation for many challenging and varied careers. The Bachelor of Management program combines a wide range of courses and opportunities that really engage with industry by allowing students to complete a work placement. It prepares you for roles in public and private sector, large organisations or small business. You may also like to specialise in the continuously expanding industry of logistics and supply chain management. This seminar will give you an insight into a range of career paths available. Human Resource Management

Human Resource Management: achieving success through people.

In today’s global marketplace, success is increasingly dependent on the quality, adaptability and innovation of a firm’s employees. Our Human Resource Management program has been designed to provide a solid grounding for successful practice in the management of people to achieve results. It is the only degree of its kind in South Australia and is fully accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI). You will build networks within the industry by undertaking industry placements as part of your program.

International Business, Finance and Trade

UniSA's International Business, Finance and Trade program opens up a world of exciting opportunities! Our program is designed to meet the needs of the fast changing international business environment by providing students with a unique combination of problem solving, analytical, conceptual and strategic skills. The program allows students to gain valuable work experience via a work practicum and offers students the exciting opportunity to study at an overseas university in a range of countries including universities from the US, Canada, the UK, Japan and select European countries for one semester with generous exchange scholarships to supplement their expenses.

Tourism and Event Management: A world of opportunity!

Studying Tourism and Event Management can open doors to careers around the world. If you are interested in studying overseas, you can undertake an international exchange as a part of this program. The Bachelor of Tourism and Event Management will give you the opportunity to study areas such as tourism marketing, event management, festivals and conventions and indigenous tourism. Well-regarded by industry associations, in 2008, 2009 and 2010 the School of Management won the SA Tourism Award for Education & Training. As a result the School was inducted into the state‘s coveted Tourism Hall of Fame in 2011.

Marketing is everywhere. From the commercials you see on TV, to the packaging of products in your supermarket. It covers areas such as advertising, PR, market research, brand management, sales, communications, marketing strategy and more. Our world-class program integrates elements of contemporary research and offers students the unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience through a semester-long industry placement. With the School's links to the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, students will be taught by researchers who also conduct corporate research for companies such as Coca-Cola, Unilever and Procter & Gamble. Marketing and Communication

Communicate your way into the job market with this joint degree.

Marketing and Communication are two disciplines that are often sought after by employers, so this joint degree was formed in 2007 to meet the needs of industry. Over three years you will learn all facets of marketing from buyer behaviour, market research, data analysis, marketing planning and strategy, advertising and media planning. Along with these skills, you will learn about public relations, communication in culture, media literacy, film and television, and complete a communication practicum. Come along to find out more about the exciting career paths available.

Double Degree Opportunities

Double your chance of employment with a UniSA double degree

Are you finding it hard to decide what to study? Do you have more than one passion or career aspiration? No problem, UniSA’s wide range of double degree options means you can study two disciplines at once. So you can combine Aboriginal or Australian Studies courses with degrees in Education, Social Work or Business . You can even study Engineering with Management or Law with Journalism. This session will highlight the benefits of completing a double degree and discuss possible combinations available within the university. This session will also showcase the double degree Bachelor of Management (Marketing) / Bachelor of International Relations as one of the many options available, and touch upon how a double degree can give you a competitive edge and the skills necessary to work in a range of international and indigenous contexts.

Sport and Recreation Management

Gain practical experience and industry exposure.

If you like the idea of working for a sporting organisation, club or recreation facility, then why not study a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management? Our program will introduce you to the business of sport and recreation. You will study areas such as sport, event and leisure management, and recreation and event programming. You will build networks within the industry by undertaking two industry placements as part of your program. You can elect to take placements locally, interstate or overseas. Past students have worked with well-known organisations and many have been offered employment at the end of their placements.

Business Administration

This area of study is a popular choice for students who don't wish to tie themselves down to one major area of study. Find out how you can choose up to three minors or specialisations from areas such as accounting, marketing, management, applied finance, commerce, human resource management, international business, international management, management of information technology, logistics and supply chain management and tourism and event management Students have the opportunity to partake in one semester of overseas study as part of their degree.

Applied Finance

This presentation will address the overall structure of our program with some key tips for success. There is a wealth of career opportunities in real estate in, valuation, property management and investment, property development, sales consulting and marketing, property research. Students have the unique opportunity to take part in a career mentoring program and to become a student member of the Australian Property Institute, providing first-hand experience and networking opportunities in the property industry.
