Interacting with real clients

Kylie BrammyI've always been interested in sport and health care, so I chose a career in physiotherapy because UniSA’s physiotherapy degree is highly regarded within Australia and overseas, the tutors are inspiring and up-to-date with current treatments and research and there opportunities for graduates to travel.

I completed a range of clinical placements as part of my degree and finished my final year with a six-week inpatient placement at the Alice Springs Hospital.

The placements were absolutely invaluable because you learn to examine clients to obtain information necessary to make a clinical diagnosis – skills that can only be learnt from liasing with real clients.

I now co-own and manage Precinct Physiotherapy with my sisters where we specialise in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and Pilates. We are continuing to expand and now employ 14 staff including six physios and three Pilates instructors.
