Head of School and guests, afternoon tea for international students International students  Afternoon tea for international students

The school hosted an afternoon tea after classes on 11 May in the Amy Wheaton Building, Magill and invited the school's international students.  About 30 international students, student ambassadors and student mentors joined with staff for drinks and nibbles.  The Head of School, Associate Professor Adrian Vicary welcomed the students, and in particular those international students who have commenced with the school in 2011.  The afternoon tea was a relaxed and friendly opportunity for international students to meet local students, other international students, and also staff in the school. 


Graduation

Adelaide Festival Centre

Graduates, their families and friends, and school staff celebrated graduation at a school function following the graduation ceremony at the Adelaide Festival Centre on Thursday 31 March.  The school celebration was held at the Bistro at the Festival Centre, and included a presentation of school prizes.  Read more.

The new Social Work Studio in the Amy Wheaton Building Magill was officially opened by Catherine Turnbull, Chief Allied and Scientific Health Adviser, SA Health at a ceremony on campus on Wednesday 16 February, 2011.

The Pro Vice Chancellor: Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Pal Ahluwalia and the Head of School, Associate Professor Adrian Vicary welcomed about 70 guests and spoke about the development of this new and innovative teaching and learning facility.  They paid tribute to the Step 2010 team including Dr Alan Campbell and Dr Harry Savelsberg who provided the vision and led this development which is unique amongst South Australian universities for the teaching of Social Work and Human Services programs.
