The School
of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy
encourages staff and students to conduct world-class research in the
disciplines of Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy.
Where possible, the research that we conduct informs the content of our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs, and our students are provided with opportunities to collaborate in research activities.
Examples of our current areas of research interests include:
- coping mechanisms of retail employees in threatening situations
- reduction of food waste in Australian homes
- impact of sleep interventions for primary school students
- development of best practice models of enterprise bargaining in the retail sector
- understanding domestic violence in rural Australia
- response of legal bodies to failures in the human services
- changes in the collaborative supply of irrigation services
- evaluation of policies and programs to alleviate social disadvantage
- preventing the abuse of older people
