Conference organisation
Members of the Research Centre for Languages and Cultures have been involved over many years in organising conferences of national and international significance. Some of the more recent conferences which members assisted in organising are:
- ALIA 2014: Angela is a member of the organising committee for the 17th World Congress of Applied Linguistics, to be held in Brisbane.
- AILA 2008: Tony Liddicoat is a member of the academic committee for the 15th World Congress of Applied Linguistics, held in Essen, Germany
- International Conference 2007: Tony Liddicoat was a member of the comité scientifique for the international conference “Les enjeux de la communication interculturelle: Compétence linguistique, compétence pragmatique, valeurs culturelles” held in Montpellier, France
- ALS 2007: Tim Curnow was a member of the organising committee for the 2007 Annual Conference of the Australian Linguistic Society, held in Adelaide
- International Symposium 2007: Tony Liddicoat was a member of the comité scientifique for the international symposium “Grandes et petites langues et didactique du plurilinguisme et du pluriculturalisme: Modèles et experiences”, held in Paris, France
- ALAA 2004: Angela Scarino and Leo Papademetre were the organisers and Jonathan Crichton, a member of the organising committee for the 2004 Annual Conference of the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia, held in Adelaide.
- ALAA 2003: Tony Liddicoat was a member of the organising committee for the 2003 Annual Conference of the Applied Linguistics Association of Australia, held in Brisbane
