Cancer Australia

Cancer Australia's Priority-driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme is an innovative annual national research project grants funding scheme which brings together government and other funders of cancer research to collaboratively fund cancer research in Australia. This research scheme is managed by Cancer Australia and the agency collaborates with the NHMRC in this grant scheme.

    The Global Innovation Linkages programme provides funding to help Australian businesses and researchers to collaborate with global partners on strategically focused, leading-edge research and development projects.


Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR)

ACIAR supports partnerships that create opportunities for Australian researchers to work with overseas agricultural researchers on issues of common concern. ACIAR's major focus, as part of Australia's overseas aid program, is to support research that promotes economic development, while also contributing to sustainable agricultural development in the Asia-Pacific region.


Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)

ARENA's R&D program supports ground breaking projects that will increase the use of renewable energy technologies in Australia by making them competitive with conventional energy sources.


Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Foundation

Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Foundation (AADRF) is the research arm of Alzheimer's Australia. AADRF provides funding to support new and emerging dementia researchers, it works with consumers to ensure that research reflects their concerns, and it promotes understanding and awareness of dementia research among the community.

Australian's National Research Organisation for Women's Safety (ANROWS)

ANROWS is committed to reducing the burden of violence against women by supporting research that allows us to better understand this complex issue in terms of effects on the community, how best to address the problem and how to work towards its eradication. The ANROWS Research Program will produce research under the National Research Agenda to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children to support the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022.


Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI)

AHURI's National Housing Research Program (NHRP) is building an evidence-base of practical applied research to support policy development, and is adding new knowledge to housing studies and related disciplines. The NHRP Research Agenda is updated annually to provide direction in the development of this evidence-base and to set priorities for the annual funding round.

Australian Rotary Health

Australian Rotary Health calls for Expressions of Interest (EOI) annually for its Mental Health Research Grants. Projects must focus on the mental health of young Australians (aged 0 - 25 years) and be conducted within Australia at a recognised university, hospital or research institute.


Cure MND

Fight MND's research grant schemes seek to fill the critical translational gap between basic, discovery phase research and later-stage drug development by funding promising preclinical drug development projects, and by funding early phase clinical trials within the FightMND Clinical Trials Consortium.


Diabetes Australia

Diabetes Australia supports and develops outstanding diabetes research in Australia. Diabetes Australia grants are intended to provide for basic science, clinical or translational research.

Motor Neuron Disease Research Institute of Australia

MNDRIA is the research arm of MND Australia. MND Australia aim to promote, support and fund the best MND research that has the greatest chance of providing benefit for people living with Motor Neurone Disease.

National Breast Cancer Foundation

NBCF offers funding to Australian breast cancer researchers, including those early in their career as well as senior research leaders, with the potential to make significant advances in the field of breast cancer research. The major NBCF funding scheme is called the Investigator Initiated Research Scheme (IIRS)


National Heart Foundation

The Heart Foundation is a national leader in research into the causes, treatment and prevention of heart disease and related disorders.

The Viertel Charitable Foundation

Charles Viertel established the Sylvia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation in his will. The Foundation was established to benefit organisations or institutions involved in the medical research into diseases, and the alleviation of hardship of the aged and infirm.

Mason Foundation

The goal of The Mason Foundation is to achieve enduring, positive impact in the areas of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Alzheimer's disease through funding medical research principally into the causes, prevention and/or management of these diseases.


Rural Research and Development Corporations

There are 15 Rural Research and Development Corporations covering virtually all of the agricultural industries. The RDCs bring industry and researchers together to establish research and development strategic directions and to fund projects that provide industry with the innovation and productivity tools to compete in global markets.

  • Australian Meat Processor Corporation

  • AMPC's primary RD&E program is focused on addressing key issues facing the processors in terms of productivity, profitability, sustainability, integrity and capability.

  • Australian Pork Limited (APL)

  • APL is a unique rural industry service body for the Australian pork industry. It is a producer-owned company delivering integrated services that enhance the viability of Australia's pig producers. The organisation aims to enhance opportunities for the sustainable growth of the Australian pork industry by delivering integrated marketing, innovation and policy services along the pork industry supply chain.

  • Australian Wool Innovation

  • Australian Wool Innovation is a not-for-profit company owned by more than 24,000 Australian woolgrowers. AWI invests in research, development, innovation and marketing along the global supply chain for Australian wool.

  • Cotton Research and Development Corporation (CRDC)

  • CRDC invests in research, development and extension (RD&E) projects for the Australian cotton industry. A partnership between the Australian Government and the cotton industry, CRDC exists to enhance the performance of the cotton industry.

  • Dairy Australia

  • Dairy Australia is the national services body for dairy farmers and the industry. Our role is to help farmers adapt to a changing operating environment, and achieve a profitable, sustainable dairy industry.

  • Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC)

  • The FRDC is a co-funded partnership between the Australian Government and the fishing industry. The FRDC's role is to plan and invest in fisheries research, development and extension (RD&E) activities in Australia.

  • Forest and Wood Products Australia Ltd

  • FWPA is a not-for-profit company that provides national, integrated research and development services to the Australian forest and wood products industry.

  • Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC)

  • GRDC's purpose is to invest in RD&E to create enduring profitability for Australian growers. GRDC invest in projects and partnerships that drive profitability, productivity within Australia's grains industry.

  • Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA)

  • Horticulture Innovation Australia Limited is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development (R&D) and marketing company for Australia‚Äôs $9 billion horticulture Industry.

  • Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA)

  • Working in collaboration with the Australian Government and wider red meat industry, MLA's mission is to deliver value to levy payers by investing in initiatives that contribute to producer profitability, sustainability and global competitiveness.

  • Rural Industries R&D Corporation (RIRDC)

  • RIRDC was established by the Australian Government to work with industry to invest in research and development for a more profitable, sustainable and dynamic rural sector.

  • Sugar Research Australia

  • Sugar Research Australia invests in and manages a portfolio of research, development and adoption projects that drive productivity, profitability and sustainability for the Australian sugarcane industry.
