FAPESP & ATN: SPRINT - Sao Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration

Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) and FAPESP

Aims: SPRINT, (Sao Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration) is a program designed to implement scientific and technological cooperation between researchers from the ATN, Australia and from the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, through the funding of joint research projects.
Funding: The maximum amount of funding available per Australian application is AUD $20,000 per year for (economy) travel and living expenses associated with the research project whilst on exchange.

The maximum period of funding for a project under this scheme is two years.
Key eligibility information: Australian applicants must:

1. be Australian citizens or hold permanent residence status in Australia and be employed as an academic staff member in a teaching and research or research only role at an ATN university for the duration of the proposed project

2. Partner with researchers from the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil who are currently in receipt of a FAPESP within the following FAPESP funding lines: Regular Research Awards, Thematic Projects, Young Investigators, Research, Innovation and Dissemination Centres (CEPIDs/RIDCs), Public Education Research Program, Research in Public Policies, and Research Partnership for Technological Innovation (PITE).


Co-Principal Investigators of ongoing Thematic Projects, CEPIDs/RIDCs and PITEs are also eligible to apply.

External Closing Date: 30 January 2017
Announcement of award: Late April 2017
Application Process: 1. Consult with your Head of School or Director of Institute before preparing your application.

2. Submit your completed application to Research.Development@unisa.edu.au by the due date.

3. After submission, applications will be subject to review and ranking by a panel, coordinated by Research and Innovation Services

4. Applications will be forwarded to ATN for consideration
