Playford Trust is interested in supporting high-quality PhD students
planning to carry out research in one of the Trust’s priority areas:
The Trust seeks to provide scholarships that top up an existing Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) or similar award.

Funding is available to selected students studying at one of the three South Australian universities. The Trust is seeking to encourage the development of young South Australians in key areas of importance to South Australia.
A sum of $5,000 will be paid per annum for three and a half years. The Trust will accept an application for an extension of time, subject to satisfactory progress and appropriate support from the university and the PhD supervisor. It should not be inferred that approval of such an extension is automatic.
The Playford Trust calls for up to two nominations to be made by each of the three universities for the consideration of the Trust. It is expected that the universities will select the highest calibre students through an internal process that takes account of the selection criteria given below. The Trust reserves the right to accept or reject any or all of the nominations made if it considers that such nominees do not reflect the objectives of the Trust or do not meet the high standards that are consistent with the status of this award. The Board of the Playford Trust will make the final selection.
