The
South Australian Parliament Research Library provides research and
library services to Members of Parliament and their staff. The South
Australian Parliament Research Library Supplementary Scholarship has been
established to encourage the study of politics and parliament in South
Australia. The focus of research should be on the effective
functioning of South Australia's bicameral institution and/or its
relationship with government.
The South Australian Parliament Research Library Supplementary Scholarship (SAPRL) will provide an opportunity to study in a collegial environment and in close proximity to the workings of Parliament with access to Parliamentary Officers, proceedings, papers and the Parliament's intranet services. A workstation will be made available in the Parliament Research Library, including desk, telephone and computing facilities and access will be provided to the Library's collections. Security access to Parliament will also be provided for the duration of the scholarship. The candidate will be co-supervised by the Parliamentary Librarian.
The scholarship will be available to a student commencing a full-time postgraduate research program who has been awarded a major scholarship. The holder of the SAPRL Supplementary Scholarship will be enrolled as a full-time candidate for the research degree of Master of Arts (MA) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
The scholarship is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia undertaking research in the area of South Australian politics and parliament.
The value of the supplementary scholarship is $10,000 per annum and will be held in conjunction with a major scholarship.
