Resources for supervisors
UniSA has long been a leader in the support it provides for research degree supervisors. There are currently two Academic Developers whose role is to work with supervisors to help them with their professional development in this area. They are Professor Alistair McCulloch who gained his experience of research degrees and their management and administration in the UK before joining UniSA in 2009, and Dr Cassandra Loeser whose own PhD came from UniSA and who has particular expertise in the area of the supervision of students with disabilities.
The University also offers workshops and other events relevant to supervision and details of the current program can be found on the supervisor development webpage.
Resources from some of the earlier workshops and events are also available: Resources from on campus programs.
A number of universities and other bodies in Australia and more widely have developed resources designed to support supervisors in what is becoming an increasingly complex role. Details of a selection of these can be found here: Supervisors and their role - online resources.
