Research education workshops
The workshops and other events relevant to supervisor development can be found on the supervisor development web page.
There are some which are focus primarily on issues to do with research degree supervision while there are others which focus more generally on the processes and practice of doctoral education (including other research degrees such as the Masters by Research).
For those interested in the scholarship of research degrees, two short series of relatively informal events are being trialled in 2011. These are both being held over lunchtimes at the City East campus and are:
- 'Key texts in research education' in which, following a short presentation, we will have to opportunity to discuss some of the most important publications in the field of the research degree and the impact they have had.
- 'My key texts: personal views' in which one individual will give a short presentation on the literature (either one item or a small number of items) that have has the most impact on their thinking and research over their career to date.
Details of each session will be added as they are finalised.
If you want to contribute a session to either of these series, please contact Professor Alistair McCulloch, the organiser.
