Injury Management & Wellbeing

The University of South Australia is a self insured employer under the Return to WorkSA (formerly WorkCover SA) scheme. This means we manage worker's compensation claims and recovery and return to work for our employees in the event they are injured or ill because of their work. Claims are processed internally and do not go to Return to WorkSA.

Our focus is very much on early intervention, as all evidence points to the best outcomes if action is taken early to treat and support injured or ill workers so they can return to their normal duties.

The university has an injury management team who work with employees, their managers, supervisors, doctors and other treating professionals to achieve the return to pre injury status as soon as possible.

The Injury management handbook provides employees and their supervisors with all the information they require to guide them through the injury management program, including their rights and responsibilities and what they can expect in support from the University.

As part of our commitment to the safety of  our staff and students the University supports the Respect. Now. Always. campaign.

You can refer to the Respect. Now. Always. website for information on support services of sexual assault and harassment. You can also call the national support line staffed by specialist trauma counsellors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1800 572 224.
