This site provides a guide to the wide range of induction and development opportunities available at UniSA and offers some useful links to resources and to external sources of professional development.

Principal providers of professional and staff development are:

  1. The People Development and Performance team: one of six functional groupings that form the University's People, Talent & Culture team.

The PDP function brings together a number of Human Resources specialisations including staff and organisational development, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment & development and gender equity development and strategy.

The core of the team's activities are focussed on provision of a series of staff development activities:

The team manages the University's corporate induction program, partners in the provision of Early Career Research and Research Leadership programs, organises the academic promotion process, supports senior staff and leadership development, disburses staff study support resources, oversees the Aboriginal Employment Strategy and Aboriginal Graduate Program, designs and delivers training and development activities outside of the main programs, and manages gender equity strategy and reporting requirements. The team has a significant role in providing support for organisational development and has carriage of a number of long term projects that have been triggered by the adoption of  UniSA's current strategic plan in late 2013.

  2. The Teaching Innovation Unit (TIU) which supports academics to drive innovation in their teaching practices and curriculum, and enhance the use of digital technologies to facilitate learning.

Other details of development support for research and research supervisors can be obtained for the research activity portal https://my.unisa.edu.au/Staff/Portal/myResearch/myResearchActivities/ResearchActivitiesServices.aspx.
