What is an AHEGS?
The AHEGS (Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement) is the result of a Commonwealth Government initiative that aims to make Australian qualifications recognised throughout the world. The AHEGS aims to provide greater transparency about the level and context of an award, and the status of a Graduate's achievements. The statement contains details and features of your conferred award, and this is particularly relevant to graduates and employers where practical experience is a component of the program. Where professional recognition is part of a conferred award, it will be included in the statement.
When do students receive an AHEGS?
One copy of the AHEGS (Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement) will be mailed to graduates who are conferred in an award on or after 20 December 2010 (an AHEGs will not be issued to students who were conferred in an award before this date). It is important that the mailing address on your student record is kept up to date to ensure your AHEGS can be sent to you. You may change your address details in myUniSA or by contacting Campus Central. Please note if you do not receive your AHEGS because your address details are incorrect a fee is required to have a replacement statement issued.
How to order additional copies of an AHEGS
Additional copies of an AHEGS (Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement) may be purchased using the Application for Academic Transcript and Australian Higher Education Graduation Statement (AHEGS). The fee is $25 for one AHEGS plus $5 for each additional copy in the same print run. You may also purchase an AHEGS combined with an academic transcript, the fee for this purchase is $35, plus $5 for each additional copy in the same print run. When intending to collect an AHEGS, please be prompt as documentation can only be held for a limited time. If your AHEGS has been destroyed, you will then need to re-apply for a copy and pay the required fee.
Please note: if your student record is in bad financial standing an AHEGS will not be issued until your overdue fees and charges have been paid in full.
