2012 Welcome from the Head of School Welcome to the University of South Australia and to our School in
particular.
This year is shaping up to be exciting and challenging as we continue to
develop our courses and programs to ensure that all students are fully
engaged in their learning and are exposed to a full range of
experiential learning activities.
The Unaipon School is part of the David Unaipon College of Indigenous
Education and Research which is located in the Division of Education
Arts and Social Sciences. Being liberal in the range of courses offered
by our Division means that you will have the opportunity to study at all
campuses of the University and in doing so, build your degree into
something that suits your individual career needs.
Orientation is a time for you to relax and meet other students, and
to become familiar with the services and resources you will need in
order to be a successful student. Orientation is also a time to meet
your lecturers and to finalise your enrolment. I encourage you to attend
all sessions and to ask as many questions as possible.
When you choose to study one of the programs we offer you will find our
staff interested in your development and our courses challenging and
thought provoking. Over the
period of your program, you will be exposed to Indigenous knowledges
from a perspective you may not have experienced before and you will be
privileged to gain a unique world view which will equip you for the
challenges ahead.
My best wishes for the future.
