Australian Irrigation & Hydraulics Technology Centre
The Australian Irrigation & Hydraulics Technology Centre was established in 1989 by the South Australian Government and University of South Australia to undertake testing and research of equipment for the irrigation sector. Testing and research into irrigation and hydraulic equipment conducted over the years includes a wide range of; flow meters, smart meters, pipes, pipe fittings, valves, emitters, drippers, time taps, moisture sensors, drainage systems, EMC electrical equipment compliance, gross pollution traps, stormwater treatment, and other hydraulic components.
The AIHTC (Australian Irrigation & Hydraulics Technology Centre) is a Laboratory operating within the University of South Australia at Mawson Lakes Campus. The AIHTC is a NATA accredited laboratory in the field of irrigation and hydraulics, follow the link to view the Laboratories scope of accreditation (Accreditation No: 17135).

With funding assistance from the Federal Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, the Australian Irrigation & Hydraulics Technology Centre has become an approving authority and a verifying authority under the regulations of the NMI (National Measurement Institute). These authorities cover both urban (NMI-R49) and non urban (NMI-M10, irrigation) water meters.
